3 Musts to get healthy and fit:
Do you ever wonder when looking at those before and after photos, you know, the ones like mine below, lol, where you see that person out of shape and overweight and then the healthy and fit in-shape after, what they did to achieve that?
1. TIME - Time is the first must as it literally takes time to lose 20 lbs of body fat. Yes I know, you have read advertising that proclaims to help you lose 20 lbs in a week or other such nonsense but really to get healthy and fit you sorta gotta lose the weight in a healthy and fit manner. Not just lose the weight like via starving or doing some other crazy weight lose program.
Just like in any endeavour that you have set a goal for, you will have a start time and then lots of time doing particular steps regularly that will lead you to your end goal or end result. Allowing that time for you to do the necessary steps to ensure success is important so stop trying to rush it or look for a shortcut or even think that that time is not necessary.
2. Patience - I know this patience must is a tough one to swallow. So yeah, while realizing that what you are trying to accomplish will take time you also need to understand that patience with where you are at, every step of the process, is important too.
In my opinion, this is a big reason many, many folks never GET healthy and fit. They never achieve their goal of getting and living healthy and fit because they get impatient with the process. Like after a couple really on target weeks where someone might have done everything right and believe they have worked really hard and then they get ON THE SCALE and WHAT?
Yep, what does the scale say? Who knows, maybe you gained weight and well, then the emotions kick in and the "I can't believe this" and "after all this hard work" and blah, blah, blah .... you know what you've said in the past.
You have to have patience with the process and just keep doing the steps necessary to achieve your goal know matter if you believe you should be so much farther along then you are. Just keep following through and with patience and knowing that it is going to take TIME you will get there.
3. Consistency - Yes you must be working or doing certain steps regularly or consistently for you to achieve your goal of getting healthy and fit. This consistency with all our busy lives can sometimes be a hard step to follow through on.
Like for example, say you get all excited about this getting healthy and fit and you make up your schedule for this next week with your healthy eating meal plans and your exercise schedule and you follow through on it. Next week comes along and you are feeling good and you again set up your healthy eating meal plan and your exercise schedule and you start to stumble and well, your co-workers did ask you to happy hour after work Friday soooo ...
Then you head into the third week and well, you did plan your healthy eating schedule and your exercise schedule for the week but, but, but .... all your co-workers are going to that great ribs place for lunch and yep, no that is not on your meal plan for today but you decide 'ohhh just this once'.
And then, oh yeah, that work out for Saturday? Not going to work, just so tired from such a hard work week and ... and then comes time for you to plan and prep for your healthy eating and schedule your work outs for the following week and .... well, then you think, "Oh I don't really have to prep and prepare or schedule as I have this stuff down and." Hmmm
Yep, you literally fall of the healthy living wagon and right back into what your lifestyle was before you set out to get healthy and fit.
Really important to keep your focus on your goals and recognize that it will take TIME, PATIENCE and CONSISTENCY with your behavior and your doings and down the road, you will get healthy and fit. After much time and patience and consistently DOING stuff you did not do before, but are now doing regularly, that is ensuring not only that you get healthy and fit but that you then remain healthy and fit.
