Healthy Homemade Salad Dressings

Today it is all about healthy homemade salad dressings. Maybe in the process of cleaning up our eating we realize that just about ALL the salad dressings in the store have High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) which is not so good for our hormones and our health in general. Plus most also have sugar, again not so great and of course a LOT of chemicals so what to do? Yep we find some delish, EASY and healthy homemade salad dressing that are low in calories that we might LOVE and start making them and trying them. These salad dressings can be used as Salad Dressings or as dipping sauces for veggies or on your potato or .... sky's the limit.

2 choices for you today:


5 tbsp Low-fat buttermilk
3 tbsp plain Greek Style yogurt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 tsp fresh dill
1 tsp fresh parsley
1 tsp fresh chives
sea salt - to taste
pepper -  to taste
Whisk all ingredients till blended. Good for up to 5 days.

And that is IT! Here are my pics from this process and I will tell you I used what I had. Like I did not go buy fresh seasonings as they would prob go bad in my frig before I used them ALL and so I used them from a seasonings container. Is it a big deal? I don't think so. It still tasted great and really this is about learning what we like and works for us. Like if I made it and it seemed a little strong in the onion maybe next time I would leave out the onion and try maybe garlic powder or something. Or maybe not enough onion and then I would add more. See it is DISCOVERING what works for YOU and your family 🙂 So a PROCESS that might take MANY TRIES!















Ok salad dressing number 1. Gotta tell you before I got into this healthy and fit lifestyle I NEVER ATE SALADS and until I found a salad dressing that I LOVED which is similar to this next one, you would NOT CATCH ME EVER eating salad. Just my experience with experimenting and trying NEW things till I found what worked for me and my family. On another note, I trained a client that just COULD NOT EAT veggies EVER sooooo she ended up getting into JUICING hmmmm So how this works. Be willing to learn NEW things. Be willing to TRY NEW THINGS and realize YOU WILL NOT GET IT ALL TODAY. No she tried many variations and still tries out new ones to add to favorites she already knows she likes and uses. PROCESS and continuing to LEARN more and more.

Picture of my lunch using this salad dressing right after I made it. TASTED DELISH for me and the salad was left over from last night. I had made a HUGE salad (for fam) so I would have a TWOFER. Yep a two for one with it and ate my PLANNED OVERS for lunch today 🙂 Love that word PLANNED OVERS. Just sounds so much better than leftovers.




Next salad dressing. Now if you DO NOT LIKE GARLIC this prob wouldn't work for you. See?


3/4 c olive oil
1/4 c white wine vinegar
1 clove pressed garlic
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Mix together. Good for up to 2 weeks in a closed container.

There you go folks. I used garlic I had from a container of minced garlic I already had in the frig and really this process to make these both, while writing in fb at the same time and taking pictures of the process took me about 10 min. MAX! So really, don't have time?
