Jayde's Awesome Raw Energy Ball recipe!!!

Jayde’s Awesome Raw Energy Ball recipe!!!

Lynnette picMy name is Lynnette.  I am a mother to two great kids, a wife and lover of all things healthy.  I believe balance is the key to a happy, healthy life!  Some of my favorite things in life are my family, books...I could read all day, yoga, and green drinks!!! I forgot to add coffee to that list...all things in moderation, right?

I have a sweet tooth, but I know that when I choose a high sugar processed treat, I feel terrible after!  So I thought I would try this recipe that was given to me by my niece.  They are raw, nutritious, gluten free, easy to make and delicious!!!

Jayde’s Energy Balls

1 cup rolled oats (I use gluten free oats because I am allergic to gluten)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I used less, about 1/4)
1/2 cup almond butter or peanut butter ( I used almond butter)
1/3 cup honey (try to use a raw, local honey)
1/4 cup ground flaxseed
1/3 cup chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla

Mix, refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Roll into balls and enjoy!  Store covered in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Pictured are the ingredients I used for this recipe.

There are a few other ingredients that would be AWESOME added into these treats.  Here are a few things that I think would taste great: nuts or seeds, coconut or raw cacao powder. You could add the coconut in the mixture or roll the balls in it after they were done.  I would also love this recipe with a light dusting of cacao powder.

Here are some of the ingredients I would use next time! They are so good that I may make them tomorrow!

The finished product! We rolled them into balls and my daughter made a bar to pack in her lunch tomorrow.

The energy balls were a hit! Everyone in my family LOVED them!  They are so good for you that I didn't feel bad that we ate them ALL before the night was over! They were very satisfying and I did not get that low energy feeling that I normally get from eating processed foods.  Please give them a try and let me know what you think.  If you liked this recipe, click the LIKE button at the end of this post.  Wishing you a happy, healthy day!

  1. Try incorporating some coconut oil as a possibility into these also. It helps with shelf life and provides a great source of energy!
