Jumping back into fitness after a holiday

Jumping back into fitness after a holiday

Probably one of the most important health and fitness tips I can give you is:  JUMPING BACK INTO FITNESS after a holiday. This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend, a three-day weekend, and I know lots of you folks reading this just might have fallen away from your healthy eating and exercise schedules.

Whether because you had lots of plans with friends or family or you just figured it was the perfect excuse to LET GO and eat some unhealthy foods and be lazy with your exercise. Whatever your reason for "falling off" the health and fitness wagon it is VITALLY important to your future health and fitness goals or health and fitness reality to JUMP BACK INTO FITNESS AFTER THE HOLIDAY.

Maybe this morning you woke up with the intention of doing just that but all day long you started that old "yes I should go and work out but" or the "what is one more day or even week, I can start back next Monday"' - that last one is a particular favorite of many. With many Mondays going by and maybe many years too and still waiting till Monday.

Listen in my Member's ONLY Next Level Club I TEACH/PREACH all about this being a lifestyle. And if this is a lifestyle you are proclaiming you want, then you have to DO THE WORK, with where you are RIGHT NOW, with what you have to work with right now. Including your current physical shape.

So:

NO MORE PROCRASTINATION.

NO MORE WAITING FOR IDEAL TIMES

NO MORE EXCUSES

NO MORE PUTTING OFF WHAT YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW

NO MORE FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF AND WHERE YOUR DECISIONS HAVE LANDED YOU (weight gain from this 3 day weekend)

Start now otherwise you will FALL EVEN FURTHER behind then you think you have already.

"Excuses are our way of avoiding responsibility." Joyce Meyers

Just get started RIGHT NOT even if right now is 2:35pm on Tuesday afternoon. Commit to making healthy eating choices for the rest of the week and sit down and schedule your exercise (weight training and cardio) and move forward with your healthy living. Think about ALL the progress you have made to date even if it was SMALL PROGRESS. Small progress is better than NO PROGRESS or worse, gaining lots of weight and starting over in much worse shape/health than right now.

As a lifestyle this is about LIVING a certain way. Yes, you will screw up. You will make unwise choices. You will let the environment and peeps around you influence you to FALL OFF the fitness wagon but, but YOU CAN GET BACK ON - RIGHT NOW.

I found an awesome website that has 12 Tips for getting back into shape after a holiday. Be sure to check it out for some GREAT tips. For those folks in my NLC you will probably look at that list and think I wrote it as it has lots of stuff you have heard repeatedly from me via our Member's ONLY group and other blogs I write here on this site. So it is a great recap of WHAT it really takes to get healthy and fit for ANYONE. Love the last tip - DON'T QUIT!

If you hung tight this weekend and stuck to your healthy eating and exercise with just a short FREE TIME  - CONGRATS! You did WELL! You are on your way.

Remember, I am a 46-year-old mom of 2 and I've gotten healthy and fit. You can too 🙂
